Philosophy

Play something interesting.

CLASS B takes an untraditional approach to live rock by combining bleeding edge technology with all out improvisation. Our sound evolves from hard rock to dancable funk from electronica to psychedelic from abstract to noticably creepy. As a rule, we try really hard not to suck.

Think with sound.

We enjoy exposing our audience to a palette of sounds and textures never before heard, and quite possibly never again. While most of our music pulls from familiar elements of our songs, it is our improvised performance in real-time that strings the sounds into a continuous stream of collective music consciousness.

Musicians are performers.

CLASS B uses all sorts of effects, processing, synthesizers, and feedback to achieve our live sound, and we would never cheat our audience by sampling something we could easily play ourselves. Our sound lives and breathes.

Never the same.

You'll find lots of recordings from our earlier days on this website. Some of our favorite recordings are from the first day we ever played together. We've haven't sounded the same since. There are always better ways to play a song. There are always new textures to explore. We believe that good music feels good and with intuition and discipline we have found our voice.
